We would like to thank you for booking your stay at Watercress Lodges & Campsite and we hope you have a lovely stay.
The Graham family are a fourth generation farming family looking after 300 acres of beautiful countryside in and around Ropley. Our Grandfather moved to Ropley from Ayrshire in Scotland in the mid 1930’s when we took over Manor Farm, Ropley (next to Dean Farm) owned by Winchester College and our family have remained tenants.
The farm is predominantly arable and beef but until the early 1990s it was a dairy farm where we ran a herd of 250 mainly Friesian milking cows. It was very long hours and hard work but with the advent of supermarkets pushing prices further down the dairy industry unfortunately collapsed and the herd was to be sold.
We have farmed and lived in this part of Hampshire all our lives. It is a beautiful part of the world and has more attractions than any other county.
The Watercress Lodges & Campsite supports activity at the Heritage Steam Watercress Line Railway. We have tried to be sympathetic and in keeping with the Railway Station at Ropley. Each of the lodges are named after stations on the old British rail line between Alton & Winchester.
We very much hope you enjoy your stay and should you have any problems or concerns, please tell us immediately so we can rectify the situation.
